With Book-a-Ride you can book your bus ride in advance. Here you will find information about your local route.

This service starts on 20 January 2025.
The on-demand bus service in Askøy is a flexible option that allows you to order a minibus whenever you need it. The bus picks you up and takes you to your destination within two designated areas:

Kleppestø Area

The on-demand bus operates within the marked area on the map:

The bus picks you up between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The bus does not operate on weekends, public holidays, or official days off.

In addition, some departures on route 405 Øvre Florvåg-Kleppestø terminal (previously route 482) and route 406 Florvågøen-Kleppestø terminal (previously route 483) are replaced with on-demand buses during the morning. You can find which departures this applies to in our travel planner or timetable.

Askøy North

The on-demand bus operates within the marked area on the map:

The bus picks you up in the evening between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Additionally, some departures on route 412 Breivik-Ravnanger (previously route 496) are replaced with on-demand buses during the evening and weekends. You can find which departures this applies to in our travel planner or timetable.

How to book the bus

You can book the bus in several ways:

  • Download the app Skyss Bestilling and place your order.
  • Book online here.
  • Call us at 55 55 90 99, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.

You can book the bus up to seven days in advance or as late as 30 minutes before departure. If multiple passengers are travelling at the same time as you, there may be a waiting time of up to 15 minutes. You will receive information via the app or text message about the exact time the bus will arrive.

If you wish to travel on fixed days, you can book multiple trips up to one month in advance.

What does it cost?

The on-demand bus has the standard ticket price, and you can use a season ticket if you have one. Remember, you must book the bus regardless.

You can buy a ticket in the Skyss Billett app, onboard with cash or a bank card, via SMS, or in the online store.

Who can use the On-demand bus?

The on-demand bus is available to everyone. For example, you can book it if you're going shopping, to the gym, to the doctor, or visiting someone.

In Tertnes in Bergen you can order the bus. The bus runs monday to friday from 08.30 to 12.00 and from 12.30 to 16.30.

The book-and-ride bus functions as follows:

  • Order the bus on the app Skyss Bestilling, on the website bestilling.skyss.no, or call 55 55 90 99.
  • Choose where you want to be picked up and where you want to go. The bus will pick you up as close as possible to your chosen pick-up location. 
  • You will receive an SMS letting you know when the bus is coming. You can also follow your order on the app or the website.
  • You can order the bus up to seven days in advance, and up to 30 minutes before departure. 
  • You pay ordinary ticket prices. 

Public holidays
Book-and-ride is available on weekdays, whether school is in session or not, and is suspended on movable public holidays.

Book-a-Ride in Masfjorden allows you to pre-book your journey. Book-a-Ride services follow fixed routes at fixed times but only operate if advance bookings have been received. The routes are operated by taxis but with the Skyss logo displayed in the window. Scroll down for more information about the routes.

Book-a-Ride in Kvinnherad allows you to book a bus exactly when you need it. It will then take you to your destination in Husnes. The bus can accommodate both wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The service operates Monday to Friday 09.00–14.00 and 16.00–22.00.
It does not operate on public holidays.

Book-and-ride in Odda is a service where you can order the bus. The service can be used on weekdays between 16:00-20:00. Outside of these times, the bus follows the regular bus schedule. 

The book-and-ride service is available in the area marked in the map. The bus picks you up at an ordinary bus stop.
